Alastair Mayer Alastair has been writing science fiction on and off since second grade, but began seriously pursuing it just within the last few years.  He thinks he inherited a gene for SF from his father, who published Arthur C. Clarke's first stories.  He has been a pilot, diver, astronaut candidate, software engineer and technical writer, and tries not to take himself too seriously.  While his focus leans toward hard science fiction, he also enjoys writing light-hearted pieces in almost any genre.
